Responsible for administration and management of the MIDAS Agronomics Co., Ltd. office in Bangkok, Thailand. Supervisory responsibility for 10 office staff and a field staff of 40 - 50 people. As Chief Financial Officer and Chief Researcher for MIDAS Agronomics, Mr. Cherdchai monitors projects and consulting staff in Southeast Asia. He also serves as principal investigator and chief research planner on research assignments undertaken in Thailand and neighboring countries. He is directly responsible for the company’s fruit tree and rubber plantations. He supervises the processing and marketing of rubber and other commodities produced on the plantations. i) EU/Thailand/Final Evaluation Mission, Development of Silk Production in the Northeast (Framework contract no. ATEPASS17-ASI-SCR/B/4), Rural Development Specialist: Assisted as the Rural Development Specialist in the evaluation of this project. Participated in the assessment of the impact of the project activities implemented to develop and strengthen sericulture farmer groups, including marketing aspects; and, assess the inter-action between farmers, community based organizations, and local government units in the production and marketing of sericulture products. September 2000. |

ii) OECF/Thailand/Rural Development Evaluation Study, Served as the Team Leader and Socioeconomist: on this 3 month evaluation of OECF rural development projects in Northeast Thailand, as part of a ten person team of rural development specialists. He designed and tested the questionnaire for use as part of the Participatory Rural Appraisal process; managed data collection; organized and conducted workshops to analyze the data; supervised data processing; and, assisted with data analysis and report preparation. January-March 1998. |

iii) Nongkhai Farm Project, Nongkhai Province, Project Director: Serves as the director of farm management and operations for a 60 ha com-mercial fruit tree orchard and a 7 ha para-rubber plantation in Nongkhai province, Northeastern Thailand. He is responsible for planning, monitoring, evaluation, product marketing, and financial management of the farm and supervises the processing and marketing of para-rubber from the plantation. Fruit tree crops include mango and guava. 1990-2010. |

iv) Feasibility Study/Project Preparation for Ban Nong Daeng Center, Farmer Outreach Specialist/Farm Management Planner: Responsible for investigation of all aspects of the project. including constraints to implementation and effective mechanisms to alleviate these constraints; project administration and management profiles; clarifying government policies regarding continued use of project site; and, types of refugee and border village programs with high potential to be carried out. He also gave special attention to design of management models for a diversified crops and livestock program to be operated within the project area. Client: CARITAS/Switzerland. 1987. |

v) Agricultural Technology Transfer Project / Agricultural Commodity Marketing Sub-Project / Lam Nam Oon Irrigation Project, Senior Economist/Marketing Consultant: Lam Nam Oon Irrigation Project, Sakon Nakhon province, Northeast Thailand. As marketing economist, was responsible for development of a market research, marketing extension, and market development program for the Royal Irrigation Department and Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives. Also responsible for management of the diversified agriculture program being operated in the irrigation command area. This program included introduction of non-traditional crops as part of an irrigated dry season cropping program, post-harvest handling, processing, and marketing. Client: USAID/Thailand. 1986-1988. |

vi) USAID/Thailand/Lam Nam Oon Integrated Rural Development Project, Irrigated Agriculture Development Specialist/Economist: Assisted with planning of market and investment/credit development activities at Operations Center, Sakon Nakhon, Northeast Thailand. Designed work plans and training programs in cooperation with Department of Agriculture aimed at making Department for Agricultural Extension field agents effective extenders for Lam Nam Oon irrigated agriculture. Focused on in-farm water use requirements, mixed farming, and specialized crops. Developed data base and conducted analyses of on-farm income, labor and input costs. Determined profitability of various crops agro-industrial processing and credit operations in Lam Nam Oon.
